NSS- NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

Being a National Service Scheme (NSS) Officer is a deeply fulfilling role that combines leadership with community service. It involves guiding and inspiring students to engage in various social projects and activities aimed at addressing local needs and fostering a spirit of civic responsibility. The position requires dedication, empathy, and organizational skills to effectively coordinate and implement programs that promote personal growth and societal development. It’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while empowering young minds to contribute positively to society.

JCDR Agricultural College is being actively implementing National Social Service for students as per the guidelines framed by National Service Scheme, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, New Delhi and ANGRAU, Andhra Pradesh.

The Dean of Student Affairs, ANGRAU is acting as NSS programme coordinator for guiding all the activities of NSS at University level and programme officers at college level to organize the defined and identified mandated programs, nurture patriotism, and inculcate service motto among the students.

NSS unit has been established with motto or watch-word of the National Service Scheme i.e., NOT ME BUT YOU. This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other man’s point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society as a whole.

The NSS unit of J C Diwakar Reddy Agriculture College is self financed unit and unit is actively involving in the NSS activities under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers in the college.  As per the mandatory requirements of NSS, each NSS volunteer participates 120 hours in regular activities during an academic year under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers at College Level. 

After completion of the 240 hours of regular activities in two academic years, NSS volunteers are permitted to participate in the Special Camping progrmme for 7 days which provides unique opportunities to the students for group living, collective experience sharing and constant interaction with community.

organised ” Students Health Camp” for all NSS Volunteers in the college. In this connection, Dr. Tejaswini madam, Medical officer, Dr. M. L.N. Reddy sir, Associate Dean, Supervisor, Male Assistant, CHO, ANM Aasha workers and other faculty members were participated.
JCDRAC NSS Unit organised Health Awareness Campaign for first and second year students. In this connection, Associate Dean sir, Dr. Jawahar sir, College Medical Officer, and faculty members were participated.

Our College is Affiliated to Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, Lam, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
