He represented Anantapur Constituency as a Member of Parliament, Served as Member of Legislative Assembly for 30 Consecutive years &  also excelled as a Minister in the State government of Andhra Pradesh for many years.

Being a clean enthusiastic of Agriculture & Horticulture he felt the very need of skillful Agricultural Graduates to serve the farming society. Hence, he incorporated the idea of starting these colleges which meets the needs of Agricultural & Horticultural aspirants by providing salubrious and sound infrastructure with highly equipped laboratories in an extensive farming land located near his native Village Juturu.
